Dave Ramsey Advice on How to Get Rid of a Timeshare on Fox News

Dave Ramsey answers financial questions during these hard economic times. The second question is “How do you get out of a timeshare?” by Krystal in Alabama. Dave Ramsey is obviously very against timeshare ownership. He says that a timeshare is like running into a spiderweb, it’s very difficult to get rid of it once it’s on you.

He does mention eBay as a possible way of giving away your timeshare. We wrote on this blog on August 25, 2009 that you may end up waiting a very long time for a buyer to materialize on eBay. In the meantime, you’ll be on the hook for another maintenance fee.

At the end of the segment, Mr. Ramsey says that 97% of timeshare owners are dissatisfied with their timeshare. “Don’t Buy Them!”

Timeshare Relief Rescues Timeshare Owner from Her Timeshare

The timeshare owner in this video came to Timeshare Relief out of pure disappointment and frustration in her timeshare.  She had owned the timeshare for 12 years and had traveled there to vacation every year.  She tolerated the dirty conditions like having sand in the bed during this time.

The final straw came during her family’s last stay at their timeshare unit. While her husband was in the shower, criminals posing as maintenance workers came into the unit and stole their luggage, a camcorder and items from the refrigerator!  When the husband came out, he confronted them and firmly asked “What are you doing?  We’re still occupying the unit!”  They maintenance workers scattered.
